Discover what drives someone. Through hip-hop.

Use rap quotes to start a conversation about values, motivations and experiences.

Rapflections on a phone: a rap quote with different interpretations

How it works

From rap quote to profile

Participants respond to short rap quotes. Rapflections uses their choices, reactions and likes to create a personal profile. Participants review it and indicate what fits. They can then explore their profile through a STAR reflection exercise. The profile provides a starting point for an interview, workshop or research conversation.

Background

Why hip-hop?

Hip-hop is assertive. It gives language to conflict, conviction and identity. Sometimes you agree with a quote. Sometimes not at all. That difference can start a conversation. When you disagree, it says something about what you do stand for.

Rapflections uses that quality. The quotes force you to take a position. Your choices form a profile that shows what matters to you.

For organisations, it also shows an interest in hip-hop culture and the experiences expressed through it. Candidates and participants notice that.
